Zoltán Nagy’s Story

I had lived as an atheist for almost five years. I had had no problems
with Believers and we got on well together. It happened to me to be
homeless and spent most of my time in daily warming rooms. Once my
Fellow Sufferer mentioned that the Humanitarian Foundation would
come to visit them. As I had plenty of time I remained there. People
coming were the members of Sion Congregation. I was caught by the
affection that they reflected. Afterwards I tried to be there at every
occasion. They welcomed me in a friendly way, with great pleasure.

It was very important for me that nobody was interested in the fact
that I was homeless. They treated me in a way as other people. They
always had time to deal with me, answered my questions and
corrected my mistakes. They did not force my conversion, they let me
follow my own ideas and at that time I attended the congregation
already three times a week.

In the meantime I have found myself in the club called “Listen to you”
where I met András. He was organising the night accommodation at
that time. Somehow I felt that this place was protected by the Lord. I
left for“ my staircase” when a voice in the tram stop said “I love you
my Son!”. I was looking around but saw nobody there. Then I
answered “me too, my Lord”. I clearly felt, physically as well, that I
was not alone. There was and there is Somebody with me! I have
understood that I have to pay only a little attention and people can
realise the Lord’s hand, assistance. I have understood that He can
help only those people who believe in Him.

I am grateful as I was not left alone even when I did not believe in
Him and although I refused Him I was important for the Lord. My life
has changed and settled since that time. I got to know my wife and
presently we serve together. I have found friends, sisters and
brothers.

I thank the Lord that He has kept an eye on me and commissioned
with this task people like doctor Bárdos, Árvai Pisti brothers and
Menich András trusting me all the time that I would be able to cope
with the difficulties with faith. Even at the time when I was to give up.

György Farkas’s story

When thirteen, together with my classmates we chose a bad lifestyle.
In 1978 while in the army I got saved. It was God’s mercy that I came
to know the Lord in a communist army. Unfortunately I could not rid
myself of my sins. My marriage turned out to be bad and then I just
dived into the things of the world.

In the year of 2000 I came to Budapest to work and study. I passed
my exam and became an armed security officer. I have had three
wives, but a new addiction came into my life, pornography. I already
lived apart from my family when once while on duty I felt that it would
be good just to kneel down and return to God.

I started praying again, and seeking God. The Lord’s answer came
shortly. I repented whole-heartedly and made up with my wife. I went
a lot of places and asked for prayer, so as to be freed from
pornographic filth. I got a leaflet of the Shelter Mission together with
Andras Menich’s telephone number. I asked him to hear me out with
regards to my sins, which were plentiful. After having prayed with him
I felt much better, I knew for certain that something has changed
within me.

Unfortunately, I’ve backslidden partially, but the ministering brothers
did not judge me and did not leave me on my own.  We kept on
praying and in the end I  was deliverd.

Praise and glory to God.
